Causes
The exact cause of fibromyalgia is not known. It is believed that the following factors work together to cause the disorder:
- Physical and/or emotional trauma
- Infections
- Genetics
- Stress
- Depression
Researchers do believe there are possible risk factors that may affect the occurrence of fibromyalgia. Possible risk factors are:
- Gender
- Genetic Disposition
- Surgery
- Trauma To The Brain and/or Spinal Cord
- Menopause
